🗳️ Protecting Voter Transparency and Accountability
Giving voters clearer information about who is funding statewide ballot measures and how proposed initiatives could impact Colorado's budget and essential services.

This bill increases transparency around citizen-initiated measures by requiring ballot titles to disclose when a proposal creates new costs without identifying a funding source. This helps voters better understand how a measure could affect the state budget and funding for existing programs and services.

This bill would have updated how Colorado classifies and penalizes certain serious crimes, including first- and second-degree murder, attempted murder, and vehicular homicide. It sought to adjust offense levels and sentencing structures to better align penalties with the severity of these crimes and promote consistency throughout Colorado's criminal code.

This bill clarifies that criminally negligent homicide can apply when a death is caused by negligent operation of a motor vehicle. It also streamlines Colorado law by removing an overlapping offense related to mobile electronic device use while driving and making related updates to driving penalties.

🌱 Supporting Youth and Juvenile Justice Reform
Promoting fairness in the juvenile justice system by reducing financial burdens on youth and supporting rehabilitation and successful reentry.

This bill clarifies that court costs cannot be assessed against juveniles in district court proceedings. By eliminating these fees, the legislation helps reduce financial barriers for young people and their families while supporting a more fair and rehabilitative juvenile justice system.

This bill updates the parole process for individuals participating in the Juveniles Convicted as Adults Program (JCAP). By removing the requirement for gubernatorial approval, the legislation allows eligible individuals who have demonstrated growth, accountability, and rehabilitation to receive parole consideration through the existing review process without an additional layer of approval.
